Bechamel/ White Sauce is a great sauce to add to the creaminess of a dish. I turn it into a cheese sauce and use it in pastas (my cheesy kid friendly penne with bacon and peas) and potatoes, my crispy cheesy potatoes. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter in a heavy bottom saucepan. Add in 4 tablespoons of plain flour. Stir with a wooden spoon until it becomes a paste & begins to brown. Slowly add in 1 ½ cups of milk (I prefer whole milk as I think it gives a better richer flavor) and whisk until thickened. This can take a while, so make sure you’ve got your stirring Moxie going and in addition to great white sauce your arms are getting a great little work out as well.
